CHTV premieres its first feature length film
May 19, 2023
CARMEL, INDIANA – On Friday, May 19, 2023, CHTV hosted a film premiere for their first feature film, “The CHTV Archives”. In this film, Jack Ringenberg uncovers all of the secrets of CHTV’s past and learns what happened to the original CHTV archives. To do this Jack had to talk to over 5 different people from CHTV’s past and present. These people include Hal Espey (Founder of CHTV), BJ Ardaiolo (CHTV Alumni), Jamie Suiter (CHTV Alumni), Steven Albritton (CHTV Alumni), Terri Ramos (Head of the communications department), Elyse Timpe (CHTV Alumni), and Brandy Ostojic (CHTV Adviser).
This documentary however has not been CHTV’s first. In 1995, CHTV won 1st place at the Indiana Association of Broadcasters award show in the category of “Best Television Documentary”. Additionally, in the 2009 – 2010 school year, CHTV’s Mark Hodges and Parker Myers created their documentary, “Homeless in America”. This documentary examined the issue of the increasing population of people in Indiana that do not have a place to live and how the city officials are reacting to the issue. This film was submitted to the 2010 Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network’s “StudentCam” documentary competition. At this national competition, their film took home an “Honorable Mention”.
When asked about her thoughts on the event and the film, CHTV adviser, Brandy Ostojic said, “Tonight’s premiere was a great showcase of all the hard work and time Jack put into this documentary. I am so proud of him – by far the most well-researched piece of work ever produced by one of my students!”
