Many exciting events are taking place during Homecoming week. To lead up to this, there are different dress-up days. Minion Monday, bikers vs. surfers Tuesday, celebrity Wednesday, throwback Thursday, and blue and gold Friday are the themes for this week. These spirit days get everyone hyped for the Homecoming parade that will be taking place on Friday, Sept. 20th. Students will get to leave their class early to either participate in this or watch it. Different sports teams and clubs will be walking in this parade such as the Unified Cheer team. Sadie Hudson, a CHS student who is a part of Unified Cheer, explains,
“The homecoming parade takes place on the day of the football game. All through Main Street, sports teams and other clubs walk and people can come and watch to cheer them on.”
There’s not only a parade, but also many different booths in the parking lot next to the football stadium. These booths are run by different clubs, sports teams, organizations, and other groups. They may have food, drinks, games, or other fun activities. After all of these fun events take place at school, there will be the homecoming football game against Brebeuf High School. To end the week off on a good note, Saturday night will be the dance. This week is great for getting to socialize with friends and to take a break from all of the stress that school can bring.
