The CHS Unified Cheer Program is an amazing opportunity for students at CHS. The program gives students, both Special Education and not the choice to be a part of something bigger than themselves. The Carmel High School Football Cheer Team has strict requirements to be a member, making it difficult for those who don’t have previous experience in cheerleading to participate. The Unified Program allows those who want to help others, as well as simply try something new participate and maybe find a passion. This organization still participates in school events such as the Homecoming Parade, practices multiple times a week, and travels to cheer on the Carmel Unified Football Team. Not only are Unified Cheer and Football options for students to participate in, but also Unified Track, Unified Bocce ball as well as bowling, basketball and soccer events. This wide variety of sports to choose from gives Special Education students a plethora of opportunities. By participating in any of these activities students learn life skills on helping others, teamwork, patience, and much more. If you or anyone you know is searching for an after school activity but can’t seem to find their passion, the unified program allows students to try multiple sports while learning life skills!
