I’d like to talk about Crime. Specifically crime throughout Indiana.

I searched through news sites such as FOX59, WTHR and CBS News. I learned about different crimes being committed and people being convicted throughout the years. Sharing their stories with my peers. Some of the most interesting/most relevant stories I’ve heard and read about were the stories of Liam Hansen and Dr. Phares, the story of Alfred Ruff, and the Delphi Murders.

The first one happened during the end of summer/ beginning of the school year. Liam Hanson (former CHS student) had sent disturbing voicemails to the principal and his wife, getting him charged with 2 counts of harassment via telephone.

Second, the story of Alfred Ruff I read about on FOX59. This one was a very interesting yet disturbing story. During August, Ruff pled guilty to trying to poison and kill his wife, in order to marry their daughter. This one left not only me but everyone else shocked.

Lastly, the Delphi Murders. This is a case that’s been going on since 2017 about the murders of 2 young girls, Abby and Libby. Their killer, Richard Allen was recently charged guilty, facing up to 130 years in prison. Those were a few of the cases I’ve read following my beat about Crime happening around Indiana.
