A major change in Florida school’s curriculum bans the use of the term ‘climate change’ in state textbooks. According to the Associated Press, back in May, Florida governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill that stripped the phrase ‘climate change’ from much of the Florida law. Following this bill, the concept of climate change was eradicated out of all textbooks in the state of Florida. According to the publisher of the textbooks, an entire 90 pages of information regarding climate change was removed from a high school chemistry textbook. However, Florida is not the only state effected by bans as many changes are being made to the education system all across the U.S. The most notable change here in Indiana includes the new phone ban, which was put into effect just before the start of the 2024-2025 school year. Signed by Indiana’s Governor, Eric Holcomb, this law bans students form using cellphones during instructional periods, unless approved by a teacher, in the event of an emergency, or other circumstances.
