House of Representatives is an organization any student at Carmel High School can join. Its sole purpose is to raise money for children at Riley through different events such as Race4Riley, Runway For Riley, Dance Marathon, and more. Student and member, Greta Griffin states, “I decided that I wanted to join House because I was so inspired by helping those at Riley. Dance Marathon is my favorite event of the year and it is a great opportunity to meet new people and fundraise.” She explains that this event takes place at the high school and you raise as much money as you can throughout the night. Speakers come and share their experiences with Riley and there are many different activities to participate in. Some of these include learning a dance, different crafts, volleyball, and trying different foods! At the end of the night, the amount of money that has been raised is presented to everyone on huge posters. Another event that takes place is Race4Riley. This is a paint and color race that supports those at Riley Children’s Hospital. It is a 5k run/walk and it is a great event to help those in House of Representatives remember the reason why they are doing the club and how it will help the children. This organization is a great way to get involved in raising money for families in need.
