CARMEL, IN – Through months of construction, CHTV’s facilities have emerged with brand new technology and a remodeled control room and Studio B.
Construction began in the summer, after the 2023-2024 school year ended. The flooring in the CHTV studio was redone, the entire Studio B was redone, and the control room was re-made from scratch. CHTV had already received new live newscast cameras, tripods, and prompters last school year. Now, all old production equipment has been replaced with new systems.
“It’s great to see an update on technology and equipment in this forgotten corner of the Greyhound Media Network”, says Cole Dangler, Station Manager.
The construction situation has not been easy on the station though. CHTV had been stationed in the Media Center for the first two months of the school year, and has been limited to pre-recorded shows. These shows have not been easy to produce, without access to the studio, the prompters, and the lighting equipment. The trouble with pre-recorded shows was also that they were created two days in advance, so current news updates were impossible to add.
“Though it’s been hard to re-adjust with construction for our virtual shows, we are very grateful to have new equipment to make our future shows even better! I am so proud of the team’s hard work in getting through this!” says Nina Federici, News Director.
Updates to the broadcasting system, the camera and audio system, the graphics system, and the monitors in the control room will help elevate the level of CHTV news! Now, last minute checks on technology installation are being completed and the team has begun to train on the new equipment.
Brandy Ostojic, CHTV supervisor says “we are all working hard to get a handle on the new technology, and are looking forward to being live again in front of our wonderful Greyhound family!”
Stay tuned, as we will be going live momentarily. Meanwhile, continue to watch our shows on YouTube, @CHTVcarmeltelevision, every non-late start SSRT.
