This year my beats have been about Big 10 football. Throughout the year I have reported on scores, stats, and rankings in the college football season. The two main teams I have covered are Michigan and Ohio State. They both entered the year in the top 5 ranked teams nationally. Currently, Ohio State is number 1 in the country, while Michigan is number 3. They play in the final game of the regular season to see who goes to the Big Ten championship. “The Game” as it’s called, is the most watched football game in the country every year, outside of the NCAA and NFL playoffs. Both teams will also more than likely make the college football playoff to try and win a national championship. Other noteworthy teams have been Penn State who have been in the top  10 at different points in the season, and Rutgers who also have been within the top 25. There have also been some very bad teams in the conference, including Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, Michigan State, Maryland, and Northwestern, who are all under 500. In the season. But, in a defensive-heavy conference, any match-up can be a close game, this is what makes every team in the Big Ten unpredictable, and upsets could come at any time.
