Carmel’s Spring Softball Season approaches!
With much anticipation, the Carmel Greyhounds softball players will begin their
spring school season shortly as tryouts take place in the fieldhouse between March
9th and 10th.
Throughout the off-season, young women from each grade at Carmel
High School have been putting in the work to prepare for this year in the spring.
This year, high school softball coaches have provided numerous opportunities for
students to introduce their potential for positions on the field. Whether it is
participating in open-practices hosted by the coaches or putting in the extra effort to
show up early in the morning for weekly conditioning.
I asked Winnie Owens, a senior at Carmel what she is eager for in this upcoming
season as she approaches her last year at Carmel. She describes she most looks
forward to closing out her final season with her best friends beside her, “leaving it all
out on the field! I also enjoy the amount of leadership that comes with being a
senior”, and being able to support the younger girls in the right direction by
encouraging them to “take initiative even when no one wants to.”
Finally, considering the rosters for this year’s Carmel Greyhounds softball teams will
soon be released, be sure to stay tuned for any updates! For more on the teams
schedule, GoFan offers information like when, who, and where their games are
hosted.
