The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Visionary of the Year campaign was held in Indianapolis on Friday, March 7th. This organization advocates for fights against various forms of blood cancers; the nonprofit organization also called for improvements in leukemia-based treatments, namely immunotherapy and stem cell therapy (because they are implemented frequently during most leukemia treatments). This campaign allows participants to raise funds for the LLS, with the aim of curing blood cancers, as well as improving the lives of patients and families. CHS has organized a series of creative fundraisers, including their very own Cabaret (Cabaret For a Cure) and several Dine and Donates (Bibibop, Chipotle, etc).
On this special date, students and staff celebrated the efforts put in by members of the LLS. Speeches by local blood cancer survivors served as powerful reminders of the campaign’s impact. Through their constant commitment, CHS demonstrated that even high schoolers can be catalysts for change. LLS Indiana’s team produced a grand total of $1,002,233. However, the Visionary of the Year campaign at CHS not only raised vital funds, but also inspired hope for a future free from blood cancers—a vision shared by all who took part.
