Due to a massive snowstorm that slammed Carmel between late Saturday and Sunday, the Carmel school district has had a surprising 5-day weekend as what would’ve been a normal school week turned into a series of easy-going e-learning days. When a foot of snow and extremely low temperatures kept the students in and the buses from leaving, what was expected to be merely a morning or two of two-hour delays ended up becoming 5AM wake-up texts from the school and days of staying in and relaxing for most students. This lasted until Thursday, when everyone finally had to wake up for a normal school day. But will this happen again?
According to The Weather Channel, cold temperatures are expected to persist throughout the next two weeks with a high of 30 degrees fahrenheit (19 C) and a low of 18 degrees fahrenheit (1 C). Occasional snowfall will be sprinkled throughout the beginning of February, with heavier snow leading right up to Valentine’s day as another snow storm is expected to form along the east coast and lean into the west. Although the holiday will surely be cold, it is yet unclear if that means another holiday off from school.
